Lipedema clinic

Lipedema clinic

Specialized care for understanding, treating, and supporting those with lipedema.

El Lipedema It is a chronic disease of the adipose tissue that primarily affects women and typically leads to a disproportionate accumulation of fat, especially in the legs and, in some cases, the arms. It may be accompanied by pain, a feeling of heaviness, sensitivity to touch, inflammation, and frequent bruising.

In our Lipedema clinic we offer specialized, multidisciplinary care focused on conducting a comprehensive assessment, establishing an accurate diagnosis, and designing an individualized treatment plan tailored to the needs and characteristics of each patient.

You don’t have to get used to the pain or the heaviness.

Lipedema requires an individualized approach and medical follow-up. If you have symptoms consistent with this condition, or if you have concerns about changes you are noticing in your legs or arms, a specialized assessment can be the first step toward understanding what is happening and learning about the options available for your specific situation.

When to see us

It is advisable to seek a specialized assessment if you notice an accumulation of fat in your legs or arms that is disproportionate to the rest of your body, especially if it is accompanied by other symptoms.

Check if you have:

  • An increase in volume, primarily in the legs or arms, that does not improve as expected with diet or exercise.
  • Pain or tenderness in the affected areas.
  • A feeling of heaviness or tiredness in the legs.
  • Tendency to bruise easily.
  • Swelling or an increase in volume that worsens throughout the day.
  • Marked difference between the volume of the legs and that of the feet.
  • Difficulty finding garments that fit the body uniformly.
  • Progression of symptoms or changes in the shape of the limbs.

An early assessment can help to differentiate lipedema from other conditions that can cause an increase in limb volume and guide the most appropriate management.

What we treat

  • Guidance on physical activity and habits that promote well-being.
  • Monitoring the progression of the disease.
  • Assessment of potential associated lymphatic or venous alterations.
  • Evaluation and guidance regarding treatment alternatives, including specialized procedures when necessary.
