Peripheral Vascular Medicine
Peripheral Vascular Consult and Surgery
Peripheral vascular surgery is a medical and surgical specialty that treats diseases of the arteries, veins and lymphatic vessels throughout the body, except the heart and brain. It covers aortic disease, vein disorders — most commonly varicose veins in the legs — and lymphatic problems such as lymphedema. It also includes diagnosing and treating vascular injuries and preventing vascular disease.
We treat leg varicose veins and primary and secondary venous and lymphatic disease, from non-invasive diagnosis to endovascular techniques and minimally invasive surgery. Our treatments include foam sclerotherapy, endovenous laser ablation, and embolization of pelvic and gonadal veins.
We employ foam sclerotherapy and endovenous laser ablation techniques. We also perform embolization of pelvic and gonadal veins.
When to see a vascular specialist:

- Pain or cramping in the calves, thighs or buttocks that starts when you walk or exert yourself and goes away with rest
- Pain, coldness or numbness in your toes at rest or when your legs are raised
- Discolored skin on your legs or feet
- Sores on your legs or feet that heal slowly or not at all
- Swollen legs or feet
Leg pain and fatigue that get worse as the day goes on - Visible or bleeding varicose veins on the legs, groin or genitals
- Pelvic pain, pressure or heaviness with no apparent gynecological cause
- Any sudden symptoms — pain, cramping, coldness, swelling or color changes in the legs or feet — need immediate medical attention.
